The Fear Factor

I have always been afraid to take up the REAL responsibilities in my personal day to day life, as i never used to be responsible back at home in Mysore. Dad and mom have showered me more love and care, and probably because of that i had taken a back seat when it came to take responsibility on my own.
Felt so unreal when my engagement got fixed on Feb 7th, Than that I realized that I am at a” Ready to get Married” stage in my life , Now that my Engagement has got fixed with Preethi,  a lot of thoughts have started to come upfront in my mind which have always been back shelved  in my mind,  just like the teachers wouldn’t notice the guys sitting at the last bench in the class room during the lecture but only when it was to take attendance or the other way around. Eventually the time had come for me wherein I had to look after myself and also my better half with all the REAL TIME responsibilities.  I Still remember the conversation which I had with Preethi a week before the engagement regarding my Responsibility Fears, I really felt terrible that time, had a couple of sleepless nights too due to that.
Well let me give a brief introduction on Preethi with whom I would be spending the rest of my life, She is born and brought up in Bengaluru , born on Oct 1st 1985 (Guess she might  get a few extra birthday wishes from my friends after this Blog gets posted J ) works as a software techie in IGATE .I was the first guy whom she saw during the marriage match making process and there were some sparks between us that day, I felt that she might be the one and she has become my companion for LIFE.
It was just a week before the engagement , after a lot of talks with Preethi  ,my parents and few cousins , started to realize that it’s not a big deal to take up the responsibility ,as I would always have her and parents beside me all thru my life.
Finally came out of that so called fear factor a couple of days before the Engagement which had caused me a couple of sleepless nights.

And finally it happened!!

After a lot of delays due to personal and professional commitments , we somehow decided that we will do something exciting for the 6th yr completion of IT Industry  and I thought this will  turn out to be just a plan and won’t get implemented anytime soon this time also (as it happened for the 5th Yr completion in IT ), but it didn’t happen that way J and we all ended up in a gr8 adventurous outing which was very fun filled with joy and excitement.
Well most of the people missed a very memorable get-together I believe, there is always a second time .

Then, it all started with a discussion offline thru calls on what would we do to celebrate this occasion and we decided that we would do something nice to celebrate our get together on the 3rd or 4th Weekend of September.
Prashanth started the Official announcement about the Outing with suggestions , after all the long emails and telephonic conversations with everyone (Aradhya, Prashanth, Vinay ,ND,Pradeep,Pruthvi,Seeni,Pramod,Satwick,Mithun), we all made up our minds on the date to do a outing for the occasion of our 6 yr Anniversary of friendship and IT Boredom.

Thanks to the initiative by Mr.Panta , who did a lot of research on where to go for a day long outing which should be very exciting, fun and adventurous at the same time and we decided on Galibore Jungle Lodge/Resort which was the opt place for all of us to catch up with everyone after a really long time.

The Day of the trip à Sep 18th , 2010
5 guys started from Bengaluru and 5 guys from Mysore.

Bengaluru Guys in Prashanth’s car à We all (Satwick ,Vinay, Aradhya and myself)met at Prashanth’s place around 7:45 in the morning , without waiting on anything just started off to the Galibore Jungle Lodge which is around 100 kms from Bengaluru , we went to the nearest gas station and filled the car up  and drove away , On the way there were a lot of  discussions which happened and was real fun .. Writing out on those Discussions would take a lot of time so skipping that part J .
Next stop was for the Breakfast at Kanakpura in the famous VASU Hotel , which looked very small Upfront , but was big inside and there was no eating place available as it was fully crowded, we all ordered Idli Vadas which were really good and had a cup of Tea and  Continued with the Journey . we were very happy that the Roads were good and new till now , further when we were 8-10 kms from our Destination the roads started to get bad and it was stressful , But when we reached the Destination we forgot everything and rushed  inside to see how the resort looked like, and it was super cool and had an awesome view wherein the Cauvery River is flowing just beside our resort for the day.

There was a Welcome Drink in the Package But we had remind them to give us one L , There was one more big Gang which was had come there for a Team building Program which was real funny.
All this time we were wondering where the Mysore guys got stuck as they still didn’t make it to the resort , they had left Mysore earlier than us and the Resort was Equidistant to both of us, we thought of calling them and there was no Network available there.
Mysore guys had got stuck up due to someone’s J Confident wrong driving Instructions which ended up travelling a bit more and finally they made it to the resort by 12 noon. Had they reached a bit more early we could have done a bit more of catching up with everyone..

Mysore Guys in Seeni’s brand new Chevy Beat à Could anyone fill their experience from Mysore till the resort …

As we were already running behind Schedule for all the activities , We had a quick chat with everyone and we went for the trekking , although it was very difficult at the start of the trekking , we ended up seeing a very beautiful view of Cauvery river running in between beautiful hill ranges and forests ,this was the first time I saw a attractive Scenic view as such. Then started a bit of Photography capturing all our tired faces with a beautiful backdrop. Clicked a Few snaps from Pradeep’s DSLR camera which was real awesome, it’s a beauty to even hold it like a Prof !! and it made me look like a professional photographer , the camera was so good about which I can’t express it technically to which our Kulla says “kaasige thakkanthe kajjjaya ” .. Totally Agree.  Than we remembered that we were hungry and had to make our debut in the all Exciting RIVER-RAFTING J which I thought of doing from such a long time and it had got delayed for various reasons. (I am not sure on how many of them were not interested completely about River Rafting , but I can bet that they all had hell lot of good time Rafting..i Had forced ND literally to do it.. J )
We finally headed downhill to get back to the camp for the Lunch , we finished our lunch around 2 pm and we still had 45 min to do the River Rafting during which we played on the Nets with some nice photography..

Our Comp Pradeep was not very interested in River Rafting , he stuck with some cool photography with his awesome camera. To start off the rafting , we had to go 6 kms upstream thru the jungle alongside the River bed by a Jeep with all the rafting boats and life jackets, going in that route thru the jungle was quite an Experience. We finally reached the Starting point of the excitement again, we were guided on the basics of Rafting and it started pretty quick..
We were in the wild waters finally, which was a first time experience for the whole bunch of guys. We started rowing following the guide’s instructions which was good experience, we were allowed to get down in the water and we all jumped in and started to learn floating and swimming , after a while we all got back into the boat and followed downstream , we passed thru a lot of rapid streams and hit on some rocks which gave us the feeling of Wild River Rafting , after a while the Rafting came to an end and we were all happy to be safe and sound. We had Tea with Biscuits and some cake which ND had brought for this occasion ,  it was 5:30 by then and we all had to go back to our normal lives and we started the journey back to Bengaluru , It was so peaceful some time back and now it was all traffic and Pollution..

Well it all ended up in a Good note .. Thanks to Prashanth for initiating this trip and all other guys for making it to happen .. We will definitely do this at least once a year definitely to a different place J .
